Emails
MicroApps runs real email hosting on your own domain: proper mailboxes, the DNS records that keep your mail out of spam, and metrics so you can see what is flowing.
Availability
Email hosting is offered on request - contact us and we'll enable it for your account.
Mailboxes
A mailbox is a full email address like hello@example.com with its own password and quota. Each mailbox has:
- Storage - a quota from 1 to 50 GB.
- Forwarding (alias) - send a copy of every incoming message to another address.
- Catch-all - one mailbox per domain can receive everything sent to addresses that don't exist.
- Status -
ACTIVEorDISABLED, so you can pause a mailbox without deleting it. (ASUSPENDEDstate also exists, but that one is set by us, not you.)
DNS records
Setting up email on a domain generates the records that make mail deliverable. Publish them at your DNS provider and we verify them for you:
| Record | Does |
|---|---|
| MX | Routes incoming mail to our servers. |
| SPF | Says our servers are allowed to send for your domain. |
| DKIM | Signs your outgoing mail so receivers can trust it. |
| DMARC | Sets your policy and collects reports. |
| SRV | Lets mail clients auto-discover the IMAP and SMTP ports. |
Deliverability (SPF, DKIM, DMARC alignment) is handled for you - that's the difference between mail that lands and mail that vanishes.
Connecting a client
Any standard mail app works. The username is always the full email address.
| Protocol | Port | Security |
|---|---|---|
| IMAP (receiving) | 993 | SSL |
| SMTP (sending) | 587 | STARTTLS |
One-click unsubscribe
Every message we send on your behalf includes a one-click unsubscribe link. When a recipient uses it, that address is added to your domain's suppression list and you stop mailing it - which keeps you on the right side of inbox providers. You can review the list and remove an address (to resume sending) whenever you like.
Metrics
Sent, received, and bounced counts, rolled up at the mailbox, domain, and account level, with daily breakdowns.
